The Big Swim

Help Us Help Coastguard!

Throughout the month of June, Coastguard NZ is running The Big Swim - a nationwide fundraising event to support the incredible work they do keeping our waters safe. It’s a chance for all water lovers - boaties, paddleboarders, kayakers, jet skiers, and swimmers - to play their part in helping save lives on the water.

Whangamatā Community Pool is diving in and getting on board! We’re taking on the challenge with a fun inter-house competition, aiming to swim a combined total of 500 km while raising funds for Coastguard.

What a month it's been! Throughout June, our amazing community came together and swam an incredible 506km – that’s like swimming from here to Wellington and back!

Even more impressive, you helped raise $5,405 in donations, all going directly to Coastguard NZ, supporting the vital life saving work they do on our waters.

 

Huge shout out to our teams that battled it out and clocked up their kms. Awesome mahi team.
